Kofo Tunji-Olagunju

Kofo Olagunju is appointed General Manager (GM) Government & External Relations and Security for Oando Energy Resources Nigeria Limited. He is a distinguished executive with over 21 years of experience in developing and implementing business strategies across diverse industries. His career includes prominent roles at Citibank London and The Bank of New York (now BNY Mellon) in London, where he honed his expertise in enhancing organizational efficiency and building strong stakeholder relationships.
Since September 2014, Kofo has served as the General Manager of External Relations at Oando Energy Resources (OER). In this role, he led key initiatives to improve stakeholder engagement and external communications for the organisation. His notable achievements include spearheading the facilitation of regulatory approval for a US$1.3 billion acquisition of ConocoPhillips’ Nigerian assets, securing US$100 million in tax savings.
Prior to this, Kofo was the Head of Business Portfolio & Acquisitions at OER, where he managed the company’s business portfolio and acquisitions. He successfully acquired a joint venture marginal field upstream asset and led the first secondary acquisition of a marginal field from a local partner.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Business Management from the University of Westminster, London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Economics from Richmond College, London. He also has a City & Guilds Diploma in Business Computing from Cavendish College, London.
